All About Thinking

Welcome to Room 6

Mr. Hill is the teacher of 26 amazing children. It is a Year 4 and 5 class and all the children are very enthused and excited about what this year has to offer.

In our first week we came up with a list of class rules, here are some of them:

  • No bullying or name calling.
  • Hands up if we have a question or something to say.
  • We will not talk over someone while they are talking.
  • Respect our class equipment.
  • Follow the values of the school ladder.
  • Listen to the teacher

Things that happen in Room 6

At the beginning of the day the whole school attends a short assembly and a series of fitness exercises – We do jump jam, skipping and sometimes running.

Then the learning begins!!! We start our day off with goal setting then maths. After interval we do handwriting, and then we get into our reading rotation. Before lunch we do writing and swimming – at the moment we are learning about survival techniques in the water.

After lunch we relax in our class with some silent reading or silent drawing. Then we finish the afternoon with either:

Topic study – focusing on being the best we can be and the school values, or

Music – guitar study, or

Art – creating a colourful visual mihi.
