Welcome to Room 2

Room 2 is taught by Mrs Alicia Craig. It is a year 6 class of 27 wonderful enthusiastic and motivated learners. We have developed our very own Room 2 Class Treaty which will ensure we have a safe and positive learning environment.

Many class programmes are used throughout a typical teaching day. The PIGEON inquiry model is used while studying topics. Students are able to develop personalised learning and have a say in decision making within the class room.

Students are able to learn in a variety of situations - buddy, group and whole class activities.

ROOM 2

Our school day begins with Karakia and a short assembly; this gives the school the opportunity to start the day together. This short assembly is followed by whole school fitness. We are doing running, jump jam and skipping this term.

Mathematics involves whole class activities and group work to develop number concepts and learning. We make maths meaningful and relate it to real life situations.

We have an integrated literacy programme, with writing and reading programmes directly related with our term themes, which enhances student's learning.

The use of ICT and inquiry learning plays a large part in our class programmes. We have the laptops in our class regularly where we learn how to use a variety of programmes and how to search the internet.

We have an Interactive Whiteboard in our classroom, which enhances both teaching and learning opportunities.
